Mr Samuel Deng Magwet: Founder and Managing Director WAP

Mr. Deng has a dynamic personality with progressive work experience of well over 18 years. He worked for a number of international non-governmental organizations in South Sudan and Kenya. Has been the managing consultant of WAP Consultancy Firm since 2018. He managed and implemented projects with funding from notable donors i.e., EU, USAID, NORAD, The Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands, and UN Agencies UNDP, WFP, FAO, and The World Bank. He is the CEO and Founder of WAP Consultancy Firm.

He hold’s a Master of Science in Administration with a concentration in Food Security from Andrews University, Michigan USA. Currently completed his research work for a Master of Arts in Monitoring and Evaluation from African Nazarene University, Nairobi Kenya. He has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. Certificate of Kenya certificate of secondary education. Has a number of short course certificates. A team member (national consultant) on the analytical work on; Transforming Agriculture: From Humanitarian Aid to a Development Oriented Growth Path, South Sudan. He is the brain and founder of South Sudan Consultants Alliance.

Deng is a very comitted family man with one wife and four children,due to his umatched drive and self dicipline Deng has overcomed a lot of chalenges and made a success of himself,despite coming from a very humble background ,In his spare time Deng loves long nature walks hicking and jogging, he is an active individual directly supporting an extended family of over 30 individuals,Deng is a Philanthropist at heart and usualy engages in setting up and supporting various community initiatives including non profit community Organizations,Deng is a devoted Christian who enjoys actively practising his faith.

Deng has in his  expansive career Successfully managed a number of multimilion Dollar projects and programs with just a few beeing mentioned bellow:

  • Successfully managed a € 2m EU funded project (SORUDEV) in the former Lakes state.
  • Successfully managed $ 6.5m for four project in Lakes state
  • Managed $ 8.3m WFP, FAO, and NMFA funded projects.
  • Supervised a number of technical and support staff
  • Member of select committee John Garang University of Science and technology in partnership with Borlouge A&M for USAID/FFP development grant $ 2.7m
  • Managed agriculture project with budget of $ 1.6m in Jonglei
  • Managed MDTF/GoSS project with budget of $ 2.6m
